Botox® Cosmetic was FDA-approved in April of 2002 to temporarily remove “frown lines” commonly found across the forehead and between the brows. These injections work by inactivating the nerves which normally stimulate the forehead muscles to contract. When these muscles are in their relaxed state, the wrinkles associated with them temporarily disappear. The results of these treatments are not permanent but may last for several months.
